Pumkins is just brilliant. They serve cheap, wholesome vegetarian and vegan food in a completly unpretentios environment. The crockery, cutlery and glasses don't match and the decor is unfussey. The overall effect is very relaxing and friendly. Pumpkins is definitely not for the smart set, wankers who want to be seen in poncey, fashinable places. They have no licence but you can bring your own booze. Particular favourites of mine are the vegan nut roast, garlic mushroooms and the wonerfully comforting mango cake, (in our house we call it "anxiety sponge" because of it's proven anti-depressent quality). Service is slow but don't stress out about it. It's just the way Pumpkins operates.
A three course meal can be had for less than a tenner.
