The Boombar on Crouch Hill, Crouch End, serves up unique, delicious food with South African flair. Every time we sit down for a meal there, my heart beats a little faster with ecpectation and excitement. The ample selection of wines, beers and cocktails compliment the non-trad foods on offer. I highly recommend the ostrich fillets (choose the Cajun spices!) with game chips. Try their spiced butternut squash soup as a starter-your taste buds will do a 360! Or go for the halloumi salad. I'm aiming to get the recipe for that salad dressing tonight, when we go there for my birthday . . . The staff are fantastic,a nd very laid back, even under pressure. They are always polite, and helpful at explaining some of the more unusual fare on offer (spring bok??). The only thing they could do with is a non-smoking section. The place is cozy, so if you're a non-smoker, your chances of being seated next to a smouldering cancer stick are fairly high. But og there anyway! Great atmosphere, great food, and fab service make it one of the best places to eat in North London!
