I took my parents and sister to the Darjeeling upon recommendation of my parents, who had visited twice before on a Friday night. They advised the that food on both previous occasions had been very good. However last night it was utterly disapointing. We were the only customers in the restaurant yet, they still managed to get our order wrong. The staff were very nice & friendly, however, they bought chicken rogan out instead of Beef, the Chicken Madras tasted nothing like the 2 other times and just tasted of strong cayene pepper. They exchanged it but it came back equally unedible. My sister and I shared 2 vegetarian dishes , a pasanda and tikka masala (I specifically asked to be spicy), both tasted bland with no tastes of spices. Both just left a buttery after taste. The spinach paneer was nice and when they finally served the Beef Rogan, my father said it was nice. I felt too bad to complain about the vegetarian dishes, but didnt eat much, they were tasteless. I regrettably paid £87 as i didnt want to ruin mothers day outing but will not ever return again.
