Dreadfull, Dreadfull, Dreadfull. Food was served cold, the flavouring was blunt to say the least - there was no sign of any chef balancing flavours. The Venison in the stew was tough and the sauce mainly flour. The Foie Gras was bland. "Scallops" (Really king prawns) over-powered with garlic. Poached pear with strawberry ice bland as opposed to delicate. Service arrogant/slow to the verge of rudeness. On asking for the dessert wine list, the waiter actually refused to fetch it and effectively forced us to accept his choice! On asking for the Sommelier (with the prices charged, I would have expected one) the waiter (who was French) professed/pretended not to understand! All this and they have the bare faced cheek to charge near Michelin star prices. Dreadfull, Dreadfull, Dreadfull.

We had the best evening in a long time at the Onslow Arms. A bit pricy but then you get what you pay for. Food and service was excellent and for a special occasion this is the place to go.

We held our Christmas Party in Auberge at the Onslow Arms. The food was very, very good and they handled 60 people all eating different things at the same time fantastically. We'll be back.

Absolutely fantastic, I'm not sure what happened with Alistair (I doub't he's got the right place as there is another Auberge in the Guildford are which is a bit poor) but a superb meal, fantastic steak perfectly cooked, very attentive staff, well prepared and presented dishes, I always reccomend this restaurant with confidence. Do it!!

Very disappointing. Limited menu. Main course arrived, no exaggeration, 3 minutes after we ordered it. Obviously had been preprepared and reheated- not what you want for 17/18£ + Lamb was chewy and dry- overcooked. Complaint was not dealt with at all. Pudding and wine was very good though.

But, I'd avoid this restaurant if I were you.

There is a restaurant within the Inn called L'Auberge. Old building with cool, attractive modern decor. Food is excellent, close to Michelin star standard, beautifully presented, with friendly, attentive service. Set meals offer a good choice at very reasonable prices. Sunday lunch at £14.95 for two courses, £18.95 for three. Good, reasonably-priced house wines. A real find. Pub also serves food, but haven't tried it so cannot comment, but would be surprised if it wasn't good also.
